Top DuPage County officials endorse Plummer for Lt. Governor

Treasurer Gwen Henry to serve as DuPage Campaign Chair

Wheaton, IL – January 12, 2010 – Two of DuPage County’s top elected officials endorsed Jason Plummer for Lt. Governor today. DuPage County Treasurer Gwen Henry and DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan offered a strong endorsement of Plummer’s plans for getting Illinois working again and addressing ethics reform in Springfield. Additionally, Henry was appointed as Plummer’s DuPage County campaign chairman and will provide a significant boost to the Plummer campaign’s organizational efforts in DuPage County.

“As a businessman Jason Plummer offers Illinois voters a new brand of leadership that is greatly needed in Springfield,” according to Henry. “His plans to remove the bureaucratic roadblocks that hinder business’ ability to provide job opportunities and career growth to the hardworking people of Illinois will jumpstart Illinois’ economy. He is the only candidate in the race that will bring a private sector, job-creating mindset to Springfield,” she said.

DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan echoed Henry’s endorsement. Grogan said Plummer’s commitment to real campaign finance reform is critically needed in Springfield.

“Jason’s plan for complete transparency will go a long way to end the monkey business in Springfield,” Grogan said. (more) “I agree with Jason when he says that everyone knows that the sweetheart deals that are cut come out of the pockets of taxpayers. This behavior is no longer acceptable,” he added.

The campaign continues building momentum in DuPage County. Over the weekend, Jason Plummer won the endorsement of the Naperville Township Republican Organization by an overwhelming margin. He also has the personal endorsement of Naperville Township Republican Chairman Rachel Ossyra, and he won the Milton Township Straw Poll.

“I am gratified and energized by the support offered by Gwen Henry and Bob Grogan and their commitment to my campaign,” Plummer concluded.
